The Mysore royal family belonged to the Wadiyar dynasty, which ruled the Mysore region in Karnataka for over 500 years. They started ruling in 1399 and played a key role in South Indian history. The dynasty supported art, culture, and education. Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar were famous kings. They built beautiful palaces, especially the Mysore Palace. Even after monarchy ended, the family is respected for their contributions to society and tradition.
